Nourishing
Planet Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is
made by mechanically pressing
the chopped and warm air dried
coconut meat straight after the
coconuts are opened and dried,
thus avoiding processing which
destroys or alters the natural
components. It is NOT refined,
bleached or deodorized (RBD)
NOR hydrogenated NOR altered
by fermentation. This pure virgin
oil retains the healthy properties
of coconuts including the medium
chain fatty acids and averages
50% of the highly beneficial
lauric acid. This well-tested
process retains more
of the nutrition of the coconuts,
compared to some other processes,
and ensures a lengthy shelf life. |
| This
process beneficially differs from
other coconut oils that are typically
produced using sun-dried copra which
accumulates molds and bacteria and
then needs much processing and refining
to remove the molds. It also differs
from processes using fermentation,
in which the coconut meat is left
out for a period of time (traditionally
24-36 hours) to ferment. |
